Mike Tyson suffered a ‘medical emergency’ while boarding a plane to Los Angeles on Sunday.

The heavyweight legend, who turns 58 next month, is set to fight social media star Jake Paul on 20 July with a staggering 31-year-old age gap between the two fighters.

In Touch Weekly report Tyson required medical attention after boarding a flight from Miami to LA on Sunday evening. The report claims a message was issued over the tannoy system asking if a doctor was on board the flight.

Tyson’s representatives have now confirmed Tyson is ‘doing great’ after experiencing nausea due to an ulcer flare up.

An eye witness told In Touch: ‘Mike had some kind of medical emergency on the plane and paramedics boarded.

‘Before the paramedics arrived the flight issued an announcement asking for a doctor — the message even came on everyone’s screens.’

The flight was delayed by two hours in Miami but Tyson’s representatives claim that delay was a result of an air conditioning issue and not the medical incident.

‘Thankfully Mr. Tyson is doing great,’ Tyson’s representatives told the New York Post.

‘He became nauseous and dizzy due to an ulcer flare up 30 minutes before landing. He is appreciative to the medical staff that were there to help him.’

Tyson, the youngest heavyweight champion in boxing history, hung up his gloves in 2005 but will return to the ring this summer to fight 27-year-old Paul in a fight to be contested under professional rules, rather than an exhibition.

Given the considerable age gap, the fight has attracted much criticism but Tyson has repeatedly dismissed concerns over his return to the sport.

Paul is 9-1 as a professional boxer but his most notable successes have come against fighters with largely MMA backgrounds having also lost to Tommy Fury last year.

Tyson said earlier this month: ‘He couldn’t even knock out the little guys, how’s he going to knock me out? He never knocked out a real man, come on. He didn’t knock out Tommy Fury. I’m going to f**k Jake up.’
