Liam Gallagher has furiously defended his performance on the Anthony Joshua vs Daniel Dubois show at Wembley Stadium after a huge backlash from fans.
Boxing fans joked about putting their Oasis tickets up for sale after being unimpressed by the performance on Saturday evening.
Gallagher took to the stage at the home of English football in London shortly before Joshua’s heavyweight title fight against Dubois and performed three Oasis hits in Rock n’ Roll Star, Supersonic, and Cigarettes and Alcohol.
There were 96,000 people inside Wembley who watched Gallagher in action – the biggest-ever attendance at a boxing event in the UK.
But some fans were left unenthused by how Gallagher sounded, with plenty of people on social media making it clear that they were glad to have missed out on tickets for Oasis’ tour which begins next year.
In expletive-laden response on X, Gallagher took aim at his critics, urging ‘imposter’ fans to turn in their tickets for next year’s reunion tour if they were not satisfied.
He wrote: To all those S*******S who were crying about my ANGELIC TONES last night you ain’t real fans your just IMPOSTERS and if you do have tickets you wanna get rid off I’ll gladly take them off your hands we don’t want the likes of you at our concerts nxt year any way.’
During Gallagher’s performance, one fan wrote on X: ‘Hundreds of thousands of tickets being put up for sale for oasis after this Liam Gallagher disaster class.’
ESPN commentator Rob Palmer posted on X: ‘Good job Liam Gallagher sold those tickets early doors!’
Another fan wrote: ‘I’d be worried if I’ve paid hundreds for Oasis tickets. He was as bad as he was at Reading.’
Another fan joked: ‘Thanks to Ticketmaster’s dynamic pricing, everyone who bought Oasis tickets are getting an 80% refund after that dreadful Liam Gallagher performance.’
Earlier in the day, Liam clapped back to his haters, responding in the most Liam Gallagher way possible on X.
He was asked by one fan: ‘Some people complaining about how you sounded yesterday. What do you have to say about it?’
Pulling no punches, he retorted, pleasantly: ‘F**K THEM SPUNKBUBBLES.’
To another naysayer, Liam replied: ‘I love the haters I hope I wreck there face (sic).’
And, keeping up his verbal momentum, he also wrote back ‘F**K THEM PUSSY HOSE’ to another fan who pointed out how many people really, really didn’t like his performance.
Meanwhile, another Oasis fan claimed that Gallagher has simply sounded even worse over the years: ‘Hundreds of thousands of Oasis fans now looking for refunds. Honestly, Liam is a busted flush. He was awful in 2018 when I saw him and seems to have got significantly worse.’
Earlier this month, Metro.co.uk exclusively revealed that dynamic pricing had been scrapped for the extra Wembley tour dates that went on sale.
Oasis received major backlash from fans after they had waited hours to secure tickets only to then see the advertised price raise from £148.50 to £355.20.
